Suicidal Feelings
Many people reach a point of difficulty in their lives when killing themselves seems to be the only option. For the vast majority of people there are ways of reducing these terrible feelings. Some ways in which you might proceed are:
Medical Help
As with any kind of mental health crisis, if you are feeling suicidal now or have had thoughts of suicide recently, it is important to seek help quickly. Please see the Out of Hours/Crisis Help section of this site.
Talk to Someone
- The Samaritans
Samaritans listen in confidence to anyone in any type of emotional distress, including that which could lead to suicide, without judging or telling people what to do. You can talk to the Samaritans at any time of day or night. Common reasons to call the Samaritans are:
Relationship and family problems
Loss - including jobs, friends, family and bereavement
Financial worries
Job-related stress or overwork
College or study related stress
