Immediate help may be available to veterinary surgeons and their dependants from the Veterinary Benevolent Fund. Every case is judged individually but the guiding principals are that the veterinary surgeon must be on or have been on the RCVS register and the applicant must be considered “deserving and necessitous”. Usually the Fund would be the fourth line of assistance after state benefits, personal savings and the family.
